Wedding Photography FAQ

How many weddings do you photograph each day?

Your wedding day is very important to us therefore we avoid taking on more than one wedding booking in a day. No matter how small or large your wedding is, you will receive the same personal service. We work directly with all our couples.

Do we meet you before our day?
Yes we  like to meet  you before your day, usually at your accommodation.  This gives you the chance to get to know us and for us to know what you are looking for from your photographs.  Also we like to run through your wedding day plans and for you to see our portfolio.

Do you offer a wedding planning service?
We can recommend an English wedding planner to you.
We do specialise in wedding photography but are more than happy to help you in anyway we can.  If you are just starting your research please visit www.paphosbrides2b.com
If you have any questions regarding any aspect of your wedding please contact Karen direct on : karen@paphosbrides2b.info

How would you describe your photographic style?

Our style is contemporary and natural and we aim to tell a story of the day through capturing key moments in an in-obtrusive manner. Our approach will make you feel comfortable and relaxed, even for those who normally shy away from the camera.

What are your most popular packages?
Our High Resolution Printable DVD of still photos is very popular with our brides that are not resident in Cyprus, simply because they offer the most flexibility.

What is a High Resolution DVD?
The images on a high resolution DVD contain more detail and ensure that you can print your photographs without compromising the quality.
The images are all provided in a high-resolution format, which means you can print, make enlargements and e-mail to your friends.

Note:
We shoot in raw (digital negative) as we are able to extract the MAXIMUM possible superior image qualities, which we feel is essential in professional wedding photography.
Every photo is individually adjusted using commercial photographic software before processing your high-resolution images ready for your DVD.
This can take several days depending on number of images.
Unlike in domestic cameras the jpeg images are processed in the camera and contain much less information.

Digital Photography must be a lot cheaper than using film so why are the costs the same or even higher?

Digital
Digital Photography has a number of advantages over film including easier image modification and checking images whilst on the shoot but overall it costs much more to shoot digitally professionally.

Film
When we used film, our equipment lasted many years and we didn’t need our IT equipment.  Digital equipment, cameras, computers, software and hardware is often out of date within a few months or a year.  We constantly change and upgrade our equipment every year.  When we used film it was a simple task in dropping off our films at the lab and picking up when ready. Today, it is the photographer, not the lab who is working at the computer perfecting and presenting your images.
Digital Post Production

When a professional photographer shoots digitally, the post-production work required after photographing your wedding includes - downloading your raw images, checking every image individually, re-naming files, color corrections, image re-touching, various batch actions, backing up onto external hard drives, burning back-up DVDs, uploading photographs to private on-line galleries, preparing proofs, delivery/collection, printing images, album assembly and design etc.

The whole process takes far longer than the shoot itself especially when there can be hundreds of photographs to action. So burning your completed final images to DVD is one of the last actions we do in postproduction.

It seems expensive to book a professional photographer when you will only be at our wedding for a few hours.   Why not ask a family member?
A professional photographer has the technical knowledge and skills to capture those special moments.  To ask a family member to take photographs can put them under pressure and extra responsibility so they can miss out on relaxing and enjoying your day. Here in Cyprus, we often work in very warm and bright conditions and it takes experience to know how to get the best photos and also we know the venues and where best to take sunset photos.

How long do have to we wait for our Album/DVD?
We aim to complete and deliver your package to your accommodation before your departure date. Sometimes it is not possible to complete a package fully to our very high standards within a very short time frame especially during busy periods.  In this instance we ship to you which just takes a few days from Cyprus.

For our Coffee Table Books and  Digital Story Albums you will be sent a PDF of the design and once approved we arrange the printing and binding. It will be then shipped direct to your home.

What equipment do you use and do you take back up photographic equipment to the wedding?

We shoot with Nikon professional high quality digital equipment  and use two cameras on the day, sometimes three if Karen is attending. We have full backup equipment with us too.

Do you work alone?
This depends on the type of ceremony, location and number of guests.  Very occasionally, I work alone, but often Karen will attend your wedding with me in particular on the larger weddings working in the background as a second photographer.

Do you visit the wedding venue?
If we have not photographed at your location then we will visit before your wedding or perhaps at a pre-wedding meeting with you.

How long do you stay at the wedding?
We have a variety of packages from just a couple of hours or from bridal preparations right up to and including your evening reception and 1st dance.
